SENIOR PUBLIC HEALTH POSITION : SOCHARA – SOPHEA

The Society for Community Health Awareness, Research and Action (SOCHARA) is a not for profit, interdisciplinary resource group of community health professionals utilizing multiple pathways to facilitate and promote the goal of Health for All since 1991 (www.sochara.org). This is our 40th year having commenced as the Community Health Cell in January 1984.
The Community Health Learning Programme (CHLP) and Masters in Public Health with a specialization in Community Health (MPH-CH) Programme are two structured postgraduate training programmes for young persons facilitated through the SOCHARA School of Public Health, Equity and Action (SOPHEA).
We are looking for a dynamic, socially committed, competent senior public health professional at SOCHARA – SOPHEA, to be based in Bengaluru.
Prerequisites: MD Community Health or Master’s in Public Health (MPH), passion and commitment to Health for ALL, with a good academic background, five years of experience or more.
Desired personal qualities: Value based with professional attributes, good written and oral communication skills, basic management abilities, well versed with basic IT skills.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Core SOPHEA Team (and with Team SOCHARA in all clusters) in conducting the hybrid CHLP, MPH-CH accredited with the Martin Luther Christian University, Shillong, Meghalaya. Help conduct short training programs
- Manage the academic calendar with the team; help learners develop personal learning objectives; take buddy responsibilities
- Facilitate learning modules, work with learning facilitators for the same, content review to update learning materials
- Develop and assess module – based assignments and quiz for learners
- Mentor learners, organize mentors connect meetings
- Lead module delivery for select learning modules
- Plan short courses from the existing content
- Organize journal club, book club for learners and the team
- Support documentation, filing and archiving of the program
- Participate in and support ongoing review processes
Remuneration: Remuneration will be based on experience.
